Antonio Galloni Vinous 89-92/100The 2023 La Pointe is a supple, fruity wine Pomerol endowed with good depth. Today, the aromatics are not pristine, but I suspect a less-than-perfect sample is the culprit. The style is one of forward fruit and supple, generous contours.
James Suckling 94-95/100
An aromatic wine with violets, oranges and blackberries. Similar flavors on the palate, with creamy tannins with a hint of terra-cotta. I like the quality of the tannins. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc.
Neal Martin Vinous 92-94/100
The 2023 La Pointe has a harmonious and generous bouquet with ample blackberry, black truffle and light cedar aromas. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth in texture with fine tannins. This is not a deep or powerful La Pointe, but it's poised and commendably delineated on the finish. This Pomerol has an air of sophistication, and it will drink earlier than the 2022.
