James Suckling 93-94/100Beautiful Pibran with very creamy tannins that are polished and integrated. Medium body. Refined and polished texture. Made mostly from vineyards in limestone soils. 54% cabernet sauvignon and 46% merlot. Better than 2022.
Antonio Galloni Vinous 90-92/100
The 2023 Pibran is delicate, floral and very pretty. In this vintage, Pibran is on the lighter, more aromatic side of things. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, spice and blood orange are nicely lifted. There's a touch more Cabernet Sauvignon in this year's blend. Readers who enjoy wines of delicacy and finesse will adore this.
Neal Martin Vinous 90-92/100
The 2023 Pibran, raised in 60% new oak, has a ravishing bouquet in the context of the growing season, reflective of the summer warmth, yet managing to retain freshness and delineation. Touches of blood orange inflect the red berry fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied with marmalade-tinged red fruit. It’s more open than recent vintages, with a dash cracked black pepper defining the finish. Quite a "playful" Pibran, this should drink well over the next 12 to 15 years.
