James Suckling 92-93/100Crunchy and flavorful with chocolate and currant notes, as well as an orange-peel undertone. It’s medium-bodied with creamy tannins and a savory finish. Spicy and salty at the end. A blend of 91% merlot and 9% bouchet (cabernet franc).
Neal Martin Vinous 89-91/100
The 2023 Grand Village was picked September 11 to 20 with a higher proportion of Merlot than usual. It has a fragrant bouquet with raspberry and wild strawberry fruit—kind of simple but charming. The palate is medium-bodied with sapid red fruit, granular in texture with good backbone on the finish. Quite lively in the glass, this is a fine Grand Village.
