Antonio Galloni Vinous 92-94/100The 2023 Les Tourelles de Longueville is super-expressive right out of the gate. The 2023 has a bit more Merlot than in the past, but it’s really the aromatic savoriness of the Cabernet that is very much front and center. Dark cherry, herbs, menthol, licorice and lavender build nicely in the glass. This really fleshes out nicely on the back end, where the generosity of the Merlot is evident.
James Suckling 93-94/100
Very fine tannins with classy fruit and lovely length. Blackcurrants, lead pencil and light orange peel. Medium body. Extremely well done for for the vintage. Polished. 72% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 8% cabernet franc.
Neal Martin Vinous 88-90/100
The 2023 Les Tourelles de Longueville represents 35% of the estate’s 2023 production. The 72% Merlot drives the bouquet: plush crushed strawberries, black cherries, cassis and light floral scents, with potpourri aromas emerging with time. It is obviously going to give pleasure from the outset. The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety-smooth entry and a keen line of acidity, becoming a little more granular toward the latter half. Modestly deep, this Les Tourelles has an easygoing charm and a pleasant piquancy on the finish. Fine.
