James Suckling 94-95/100Pretty core of blackberries, blueberries, walnuts and hazelnuts. Medium to full body and velvety tannins. A blend of 70% merlot, 25% cabernet franc and 5% cabernet sauvignon.
Neal Martin Vinous 89-91/100
The 2023 Faugères has a similar bouquet to the Péby-Faugères this year, although likewise, there is a touch of prune that tips this into sur-maturité. The palate is nicely balanced and fresh on the entry, composed with light tannins, fine tension and admirable structure on the finish. I think that this will improve during élevage and hopefully dispense with the scintilla of over-ripeness.
Antonio Galloni Vinous 92-94/100
The 2023 Faugères is a dense, voluptuous Saint-Émilion. Plush contours wrap around a core of blackberry jam, cloves, lavender, licorice and chocolate. This opulent, full-throttle Saint-Émilion is not at all subtle, yet it also has balance, in its own way. Tasted two times.
