James Suckling 92-93/100A nicely polished red with redcurrant, blackcurrant and forest-floor character. Medium body with integrated, fine tannins and a reserved, fruity finish. Better than 2022?
Neal Martin Vinous 85-87/100
The 2023 Lanessan is a bit diffuse and demonstrates some greenness on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins and good weight. This is actually better in the mouth, with gentle grip and a welcome spiciness on the finish. It's just the aromatics that are left wanting based on the barrel sample. It may improve by the time it is in bottle.
